Next generation of facility services access devices

The core technology in our institutional services product line is the Integrated Services Access Module (ISAM) which is the latest generation of services access devices that allow access to a multitude of digitally transported applications.  This hardened platform was custom engineered specifically for use in challenging institutional environments where durability, physical security and user safety are paramount.

See a full description of the ISAM below:

Supports any digital application

The ISAM platform can modernized many daily instututional activities to dramatically reduce labor cost, correctional staff time, routine disruptions, and it improves services accessibility for inmates.  This robust platform can support almost any existing or future digital application including:

  • Video Visitation
  • Standard Telephone Calls
  • Trust Fund Access
  • Educational Programs
  • Medical Assistance
  • Electronic Forms

Power Options

Providing connectivity for remote services access devices can be a challenging issue in secure facility environments, especially in legacy structures. CCT’s ISAM device offers two unique options that can simplify and reduce overall costs of installation while improving hardware reliability. Both of these options eliminate the requirement of having AC power available at the device’s mounted location.
Power-over Ethernet
The ISAM can be powered using standard Power-over-Ethernet where existing cabling supports at least CAT-5 requirements and is less than 100m from the PoE power switch.

Two-Wire Power (TWP)
The Two-Wire-Power option can be utilized for installations where only a single pair is available or for wire distances up to 5,000′.  Adding a Digital Services Extender (DSE) to the ISAM TWP device enables this power option, providing both power and data connectivity to the remote ISAM.

ISAM Construction

The ISAM was designed specifically to withstand the challenges of institutional use to ensure long-life, reliable operation, and user safety.

External Cast Housing

The external housing is a sturdy mold-casted shell made from 6030 aluminum with a nominal wall thickness of .190″. The housing coating is an epoxy-based paint that resists abrasion, provides a non-porous surface, and can withstand standard cleaning solutions. The shell shape is designed to provide the following:

  • Easy to clean surfaces
  • Eliminate hidden cavities
  • Softened edges to reduce contact forces
  • Reduce possible pry points
  • Heat transfer from internal components
  • Absorb and distribute external forces to mounting structures

Wall Mounting Plate

Mounting plate is designed to accommodate standard bolt patterns from pay and inmate telephones. The plate also provides a quick-mounting design that allows installers to minimize the time and effort required to install the ISAM device. Physically replacing a standard inmate telephone with an ISAM device can be accomplished in minutes using the existing standard mounting patterns.

Internal Mechanical Structure

The internal support structure is constructed of seam-welded 16ga. mild steel and provides the mechanical interface between the external housing and the wall-mount backplate. It also supports the touch screen and display, and provides the mounting surfaces for the electronic printed circuit assemblies.

Touch Assembly

This substantial assembly is based on a .375″ clear Lexan support substrate that ensures tremendous rigidity and security to the device’s internal components while providing optimum touch response. The completed assembly is mounted to the inside of the external housing using a sealing gasket prevents liquid penetration to internal componentst.

Display Assembly

The display assembly consists of a 10.1″ liquid crystal display module with a resolution of 1024×600. It is mounted to the touch assembly with a polyurethane gasket providing a protective air-gap between the touch assembly and the display for additional impact resistance to internal components.
